Movies of the week: Jaga Jasoos

Released this week: Jaga Jasoos. A Disney musical on a young detective set on a life changeing adventure to find his father.

Anurag Basu directed spy-adventure comic book starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif was an experiment that worked in some ways against the usual film industry music standards. Apart from the songs featured in the movie, you can see each dialogue is a rhyme. Be it Ranbir's adventure or Katrina's storytelling.

Ranbir's character is set out with exciting bits of mystery solving. The tone set for his investigation methods are done in the prioir part of the movie which are smartly molded and cleverly choreographed into many counterparts of the movie such as Bad Lucky or Khaana Khaake Daaru Peekay Chale Gaye.

Anurag Basu’s unique vision makes surreal world of Jaga otherwise predictable story thoroughly watchable.

The movie lulls down back in second half during the chase between Ranbir (Jagga) and Saurabh Shukla, playing the evil intelligent office but is saved by Ms Mala's song picking up the climatic effect. With all the ups and downs of the feature, Ranbir continues to keep the pace of the movie entertaining with all the laugh in the gloomy parts of the movie.

The movie does more good in parts then seen in totality and leaves no reason for you to not to go and investigate Basu's Disney fairy tale.
